Pool Rules

These rules are generated from the current Admin Settings and active tournament setup for World Cup 2026 2026.

Current Scoring Values

Exact score5 points when both team scores and the outcome are exactly right.
Correct outcome2 points when the winner or draw is right but the exact score is not.
Per-team goal bonus1 point for each team score predicted exactly.
Goal-difference bonus2 points. Goal-difference bonus applies whenever the predicted goal difference is correct, including exact scores.
Knockout fixture requirementFor knockout matches, the countries projected from the player's saved bracket must match the actual countries in that bracket slot before any score, outcome, team-score, goal-difference, or multiplier points can be earned.
MultipliersEach player may select 1 multiplier match. Points on those matches are multiplied by 2. Multipliers lock 15 minutes before the first scheduled match in the tournament. Current cutoff: .
Group tablesTeams receive 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. Ties are ordered by points, goal difference, goals for, head-to-head among still-tied teams, seed/order, then name.
Knockout drawsNon-group matches cannot finish as unresolved draws: the winner is recorded after extra time or penalties.

Multiplier

A selected multiplier multiplies the match score by 2. Exact 2-1 on a multiplier match scores 18 points. Each player may select 1 multiplier match, and selections lock 15 minutes before the first scheduled match in the tournament.

Prediction Controls

Each match locks 15 minutes before kick-off. Predictions can be edited until the match enters the lock window.

Other players' predictions follow the configured reveal rules and are not always visible before lock/reveal.

For knockout matches, a tied predicted score also needs a selected winner and an ending of extra time or penalties. That winner is used to score the predicted outcome.

Prize-Money Mode

Money-enabled leagues can include prize players and points-only players in the same tournament. Players are included in the prize pool by default while the prize-pool window is open, and unpaid players can choose points-only play before the cutoff.

Points-only players still save predictions, answer bonus questions, earn points, and appear in all-player and points-only rankings. Only paid prize players are eligible for payouts.

Payment must be recorded before the same tournament cutoff used by multipliers and bonus answers. Unpaid prize-pool players automatically move to points-only play after that cutoff, stay ranked, and cannot win prize money unless an admin changes their mode.

Knockout Phase Re-Prediction

After each completed phase, official fixtures for the next knockout phase may differ from the bracket a player originally predicted. When the next phase opens, the player can keep the original projected fixture or explicitly adopt the official fixture.

Keeping the original fixture has no penalty. If the projected teams do not match the official fixture, the knockout fixture requirement means that match scores 0 points.

Adopting the official fixture lets the player update the score prediction for the real match, but deducts 3 points from that match. The deduction is applied after any multiplier and can make the match score negative.

All matches in an opened knockout phase lock together 15 minutes before the first match in that phase.

Bonus Questions

Bonus answers lock at the tournament cutoff: 15 minutes before the first scheduled match in that tournament. Bonus question order, answer choices, and points come from the selected tournament's Admin - Questions setup.

Each player chooses one answer per question before the lock. Admins or the secured bonus-question API set the final actual answer; exact matches receive the configured points and rankings combine those points with match points.
